Happy Black History Month!!! I think we give more fuel to exaggerated differences as African people than we do our similarities and origins. The diaspora wars have been running rampant this past week - I was in a Tariq Nasheed twitter space where it was a clear “Foundational African American” versus the African world vibration. I'm tired...I'm tired of the exaggerated differences made amongst African people all over the world. I think these imaginary borders have caused HUGE cognitive dissonance about who we are. WE ARE AFRICAN. TO BE BLACK IS TO BE AFRICAN. And our liberation is connected. Being CLEAR about identity and how we name ourselves is very important to how we align ideologically.
